Karen Mantas
Vice President / Executive Director, The Foundation for Ellis Medicine

Ellis Medicine Karen Mantas joined The Foundation for Ellis Medicine in 2007 and was appointed Vice President/Executive Director in January 2023.

Ms. Mantas has dedicated her career to effecting positive change and growth for nonprofits as well as the communities they serve in the Capital Region, including Ellis Medicine, Parsons Child and Family Center and the Capital District YMCA. She has held roles with increasing responsibilities including Director of Development, Director of Development and Communications, and most recently, Campaign Director and Director of Advancement for The Foundation for Ellis Medicine.

Throughout her 30-year career, Ms. Mantas has built partnerships with extraordinary private and public organizations and philanthropic individuals who believe in and support our communities having access to services that improve and enrich lives. Ms. Mantas has been responsible for designing, implementing and managing numerous campaigns and fundraising initiatives that have collectively raised nearly $200 million.

In addition, Ms. Mantas is skilled in communications, public relations, marketing, board and volunteer management, project management, strategic planning and brand development.

Ms. Mantas is a graduate of The College of St. Rose and has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management. She is a native of Clifton Park, where she raised her two daughters and currently enjoys hiking with her German shepherd, Ginger.
