Paul A. Milton
President / Chief Executive Officer

Ellis Medicine Mr. Milton has more than 30 years of experience as a senior healthcare leader. He became President and CEO of Ellis Medicine in March 2016, having served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since 2008.

Mr. Milton's leadership is marked by strategic decision making that has led to a series of collaborative achievements. His accomplishments include forming successful partnerships with St. Peter’s Health Partners and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, and working with elected officials to address the Medicare Wage Index for the Capital Region. Additionally, he oversaw the establishment of Mohawk Harbor Urgent Care and the Medical Center of Clifton Park, and played a pivotal role in launching Ellis Outpatient Mental Health Services Center for adults and adolescents. His strategic vision led to the realignment of facilities and services at Bellevue Woman's Center, McClellan Campus, and Ellis Hospital, ultimately improving the overall efficiency and effectiveness of these institutions.

Prior to joining Ellis, Mr. Milton served as the Chief Operating Officer of Norwalk Hospital in Connecticut, a 328-bed teaching hospital and level II trauma center. His previous roles include Chief Operating Officer of Northeast Health in Troy, NY, where he played a pivotal role in the merger of Albany Memorial and Samaritan hospitals. Additionally, he held the position of Vice President of Administration for Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, CT, and Vice President of Operations at the Stamford Health Care Corporation in Stamford, CT.

Mr. Milton's academic achievements are a testament to his dedication to the healthcare field. He earned his master's degree in health services administration from George Washington University, Washington, D.C., and his bachelor's degree in business administration from Miami University, Oxford, OH. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Milton has a strong commitment to community leadership, having served as Chair of the Capital Region Chamber and as the current Chair of the Healthy Alliance. He also has experience as a community health care coordinator with the United States Peace Corps in Malawi, Africa.
