Press Release
Ellis Puts Temporary Pause on 24/7 Care in Clifton Park
Monday, March 7, 2022
Change in Hours Required due to Staffing Shortage; Emergent Care Still Available 7 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – Ellis Medicine announced today that it will temporarily pause overnight emergent care services at the Medical Center of Clifton Park, located at 103 Sitterly Road, effective Monday, March 14.
Emergent care services will continue to be available at that location from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., seven days a week. The Emergency Department at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady remains open 24/7/365 for patients in need of emergency care. As always, anyone with a medical emergency, or who is uncertain about the severity of an illness or injury, is urged to call 9-11.
The decision to temporarily pause overnight services stems from a lack of available emergent care staff as a result of the nationwide healthcare workforce shortage. Employee recruitment is of utmost priority at all Ellis Medicine locations, and Ellis is committed to restoring 24/7 emergent care in Clifton Park as soon as staffing levels allow.
