Ellis Gynecologic Surgery

Ellis Gynecologic Surgery provides inpatient and outpatient gynecologic (sometimes referred to as GYN) procedures and surgeries to further evaluate or treat a range of women’s health conditions. Dr. Montalto utilizes minimally-invasive procedures that carry such benefits as smaller incisions, less risk of infection, less scarring and faster recovery, including robotic-assisted surgery. Our surgical team also has access to advanced diagnostic technology and works closely with board certified radiologists. Our surgical team has extensive experience in meeting the specialized needs of women before, during and after surgery.

Most gynecologic surgery is performed at Bellevue Woman’s Center, the centralized location for Ellis Medicine’s women’s health services. Bellevue Woman's Center caters to the specialized surgical needs of every woman and provides an environment that promotes healing and comfort.

The entire Surgical Services Unit is staffed with registered nurses who have extensive experience in caring for women with medical and surgical needs, especially in the area of gynecology. Bellevue's Ambulatory Surgery Unit staff tends to our patients' needs before and after their outpatient surgical procedure. Inpatient surgical patients are sent to the appropriate unit for extended care following their surgery.

Robot-assisted GYN surgery is also performed at Ellis Hospital (1101 Nott Street, Schenectady), including:
