Care for sleep-related health problems
Getting a good night's sleep is a key ingredient to good health. If you are one of the millions of Americans suffering from a variety of sleep syndromes and disorders, the Sleep Disorders Center at Ellis Medicine can help.
Our team of experts is led by physicians who are board certified in sleep medicine by the American Board of Sleep Medicine. The team is supported by highly trained staff credentialed as either registered polysomnographic technologists and/or registered respiratory therapists, as well as a helpful office staff.
The Sleep Disorders Center focuses on the diagnosis of and treatment options for many sleep-related health problems, including:
Restless leg syndrome
Parasomnias (night terrors, nightmares, sleep walking, teeth grinding and bedwetting)
Fortunately, most sleep disorders are treatable and often can lead to the improved management of other pre-existing health conditions, such as obesity, respiratory difficulties and heart problems.
Common signs of sleep disorders include difficulty falling asleep, routinely waking up in the morning not fully refreshed or falling asleep during the day. Snoring by itself doesn't indicate that you have a sleep disorder, but it is often a common symptom of an obstructive airway problem (sleep apnea) that could point to the need for further evaluation.
If you or a family member (age 13 or older) has problems sleeping, call us directly or talk with your doctor about a referral to Ellis Medicine's Sleep Disorders Center.
